Facebook Ads Audit: What a Proper Audit Actually Checks
Before you raise the budget or rebuild everything, an audit shows what is actually happening inside your account, and which fixes matter first.
By Manuar Jahan Rana · E-commerce Growth Partner
Most ad accounts do not have one big problem. They have several small ones: a tracking gap here, a fragmented campaign there, creative that stopped working weeks ago. An audit is a structured review that finds those problems in order of business impact, so money stops leaking before more budget goes in.
1. Tracking and measurement
Everything starts here, because every other decision depends on these numbers. The audit checks whether the Meta Pixel and Conversions API are installed, whether events fire once each with deduplication, whether values and currency are passed correctly, and whether Ads Manager results match your real orders. If the measurement is wrong, the audit says so first. Related reading: my article on Meta Pixel and Conversions API tracking.
2. Campaign structure and objectives
Too many campaigns splitting one small budget, ad sets competing with each other, the wrong campaign objective for the goal, placements left entirely on default. The review maps how the account is built against what the business actually needs: purchases, leads or conversations.
3. Audiences and retargeting
Who is being targeted, who is excluded, and whether warm audiences are used properly: website visitors, page engagers, past buyers. Purchasers should normally be excluded from prospecting, and retargeting should exist once the audience pool is big enough to justify it.
4. Creative and message match
Which ads carried the results, which have fatigued, and whether the promise in the ad matches the page it sends people to. A strong ad sending traffic to a page that says something different will always underperform, no matter how good the targeting is.
5. Budget and results, honestly read
Spend is compared against real business results, not platform vanity metrics. Where did the money produce orders, where did it produce only clicks, and what should be stopped, fixed or scaled, in that order.
What you receive
A written report: the findings, the evidence behind each one, and a prioritised fix list covering what to do now, what to do next and what to stop. My audits are paid work, quoted in writing before anything starts. The free strategy call comes first, so we can decide together whether an audit is even the right step for your account. Questions Business Owners Ask Me
How is an audit different from the free strategy call?
The call is a conversation about your goals and whether we should work together. The audit is the detailed, hands-on review of your account and tracking, delivered as a written report. The call is free; the audit is paid, quoted in writing first.
Will an audit fix my campaigns?
An audit finds and prioritises the problems. Fixing them is implementation work, which can follow once you approve the plan. Some owners take the report to their own team; others ask me to implement it.
What do you need from me?
View access to the ad account and the business assets involved, granted safely through Meta Business settings. You keep ownership of everything, and you never share your personal password or a login code.
